Each personal computer or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that interacts with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, along with any apps that are present on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, any application runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software like a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so you can set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Web Hosting

We provide as many as 3 different Linux releases for the Operating System of our virtual private servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs out there and we supply all three rather than only one as we realize that you may want to set up some software that has specific requirements regarding the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a vast support community behind it and there are various software applications you could install on the web hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine exactly what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS in case you would like to use one and for this reason we offer multiple Control Panels as well. Should you decide that you need to have a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the current one and set up the one that you'd like. We also offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers Hosting

In case you decide to obtain one of our dedicated servers, you will find three Operating Systems on the registration page since we want to give you a wider choice for the system environment on the machine as different applications could have particular requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian include different modules developed by their huge support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and take advantage of a reliable and risk-free hosting service. Based on your decision, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Of course, we can always change the Operating System if the one you have selected initially doesn't meet the requirements of the software which you intend to run. We can also upgrade the OS on a regular basis in order to keep it as secure as possible with our Managed Services upgrade package.
